Step inside our beautiful 18th century manor home to experience all the charm of yesteryear alongside the most modern of conveniences and a first-rate standard of care.
Ballinamore House Nursing Home Co. Mayo was built in 1782 and served as the home of the Ormsby family. In 1938 the house was sold to the Scottish order of nuns who used the house as a school. In the 1970s the house was sold to Western Care where it was left unused. By the time it was taken over for its current purpose as a care home, it was in desperate need of repair and refurbishment.
Owner Sharon O’Boyle and her husband invested their heart and soul in redeveloping the property for its current purpose. Today Ballinamore House Nursing Home Co. Mayo is a vibrant and happy home that allows residents to wander freely and safely, exploring the building’s various quirks and interesting features. The magnificent central staircase, complete with stair lift, helps residents remain active and mobile to retain their independence and freedom.
The home is surrounded by six acres of lush greenery, garden walks and forest in the Kilitmagh countryside, providing plenty of supervised activity, stimulation and fresh air for residents to enjoy.
Ballinamore House Nursing Home Co. Mayo offers accommodation for 48 residents, comprising 33 single and six Double rooms. There are several reception areas, a formal dining room, various nooks and cubbies and four large and personalised dayrooms with satellite television to enjoy.
